About Us
Some of the participants at HotAir.com have simply insisted that my talking collie does not really "speak the English language out loud" -- or that he is somehow a figment of my imagination. My collie is okay with that. There are still plenty of participants (at HotAir and elsewhere) that are more than willing to engage my collie in political discourse or include him in discussions regarding religion. After all, that's what the "internets" is all about, isn't it? Everyone gets "their say". It's the closest thing to democracy that we have on planet earth. What most people don't know is that he posts comments on many different internet blog sites using his very own moniker/handle, and the other commenters/participants rarely "catch on" that he is a canine. Like he always says to me,
"On the Internet, nobody knows that you're a dog."
Be forewarned, my collie has a reputation for being more than a bit opinionated. To be honest, at times, he exhibits a bad atitude. It is on those occasions that I wish that he was more like an ordinary collie. (Most of the time, I can't even get him to play Frisbee with me.) From time-to-time you will see the two of us exchange "verbal unpleasantries." I remind him now-and-then that he is not human, and that he is not entitled to all the inalienable rights that we possess. He reminds me that no one is more delighted about this fact than him. Sometimes I think that he "gets his jollies" by registering his contempt for all things human. On the upside, he plays a mean game of poker -- and that comes in handy when we are short of players on Saturday night. We have to go out to the garage when he plays with us, though. I can't tolerate those cigars that he smokes. Some things have to be kept outdoors.
As for me, I am a card-carrying POG (pathetic old geezer). I'll be 52 years old this year. Although I've spent most of my life working as an aeronautical engineer, it's really just a hobby. I have other interests, including a passion for personal computers and a love for the game of baseball (it's been very, very good to me). I dwell in one of the eastside suburbs of Seattle, Washington (across Lake Washington), along with my young Filipina wife of 27 years, and, of course, my collie. Over the past 21 years, I have spent a considerable amount of time longing for more sunshine. Can you blame me?
